  pls configure hive.exec.drop.ignorenonexistent  to  false
  in hive-site.xml, then try again.

Subject:  No error message is shown in drop command when table doesn't exist



When we try to execute query using drop command in beeline then no error
message is being displayed even when the table doesn't exist . Although an
error message is shown in the log file of thrift server.
So our question is, whether an error message should be displayed on beeline
or not?
